I just made this chart, I find it very useful for things like webcasting or capturing video, making video tutorials, etc

the aspect ratio of your capture may is often not the same ratio as your output / project settings, so using this chart is a way to match the aspect ratios of a capture of a lower resolution window or screen with a higher resolution project / output

its a useful tool such as for when you are comparing your input to your output, to keep the same ratio, without having to convert and lose quality or slow down performance, or any other resolution to ratio questions you might have

the chart on the left is organized by resolution, and the chart on the right is organized by aspect ratio

just select project / output resolutions with the same aspect ratio of the resolution of your video record / capture

here it is:

2K is the Digital Cinema format, the most widely used format for today's feature films

which is supposedly significantly less resolution than the 35mm films that were scanned at 4K in the past

its debatable whether or not the newer 4K digital acquisition available, and eventually to replace 2K in cinema production, can match the results achieved by scanning 35 mm film at 4K,

however, its also debatable that the 4K scanning of 35mm film actually extracts all the available detail from the 35 mm film in the first place.
