this is just a theory, but I think if you ran your shot through in phases you might end up with a better final product.
1st phase, is audio with no visual, plan out what you want to hear or should be hearing, and listen to the whole scene from beginning to end, and you should get a clear picture of exactly what is happening
2nd phase, is metal shooting & editing, with a little framing card and a notepad, making
notes about each shot, including filters and crops and etc, and combining all of those into
the scene notepad
3rd phase is visual with no sound, you should see just from the movements and postures, and body language and expressions, etc, in the scene, that you get a clear feeling for everything that is happening, similar to early B & W films
4th phase is the actual final take shooting
i think this would bring the film and all necessary elements together for the best possible production
